Nothing you or I can do on this earth will gain us entry into heaven except for salvation through Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus says that He is the only way:

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Not by our good works or how nice we are to people. It's all about accepting salvation and recognizing we are sinners and that we need a savior. That savior is Jesus Christ!
